Jamshedpur: In the aftermath of the recent Ranchi violence over Nupur Sharma remarks, the entire state, including East Singhbhum district, has been put on high alert.
The administration in all districts of the state is holding meetings of peace committees to activate them in order to defuse the situation.
The administration is asking the peace committees to maintain peace and tranquility in the area.
Flag marches are also being conducted continuously in sensitive police station areas.
The intelligence agencies too are on the lookout.
On Sunday, a meeting of the Azad Nagar Police Station Peace Committee of Jamshedpur was held. All the members of the committee, including the ADM, the city SP, and the Azad Nagar police station in-charge participated.
Azad Nagar Police Station Peace Committee members were told by the ADM (Law and Order) N K Lal that in view of the Ranchi violence, the district administration is on high alert.
The district administration has called on the people of the area to maintain peace and tranquility.
A request has also been made in the meeting of the peace committee to maintain peace and tranquility.
Efforts will be made to maintain law and order in the city, Mr Lal said while addressing the meeting.
