New GM to focus on BSNL reach expansion into rural areas
Jamshedpur: The new General Manager of BSNL Jamshedpur, Dashrath Mahato, officially took charge from his predecessor Sanjeev Verma on Saturday. He was earlier posted in the administration and planning department.
Verma had been posted here for five years and eight months!
During a press meet at the Golmuri office with the media present, he said: “BSNL has made considerable progress under Mr Verma’s leadership- that responsibility now rests with us.”
“I have enjoyed working side by while Mr Vermaji this past 18 months,” he added proudly before adding that one of his priorities would be to expand BSNL’s reach as far down as possible into rural areas.
Sanjeev Verma, the outgoing General Manager of BSNL Jamshedpur, heaped praise for the new GM. He termed him “strong and competent” despite difficult circumstances. “Despite difficult circumstances BSNL did not get bogged down and we worked with full transparency,” said Verma before thanking the employees and family members of BA Jamshedpur.
He also mentioned that when 4G service was launched in 2016 broadband services started to disconnect but they countered it by pushing fibre cables which has now led to more than 6000 FTTH connections being provided from only 2000 outages across all areas under Jharkhand circle.
Verma further told reporters that 45 per cent of total growth in FTTH connection is coming from BA Jamshedpur out of a total 17000 connections throughout the whole state making it one of largest business area designated by headquarters as well as providing 7000 plus FTTHs so far this financial year 2021-’22
