AITUC and INTUC leaders hold meeting at Ambagan Sakchi to discuss preparations for strike.
Jamshedpur: The Jamshedpur unit of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), the oldest trade union federation of India, held a meeting on Sunday to discuss preparations for the nationwide general strike of workers called by several trade unions and farmer unions of the country on March 28 and 29.
The meeting discussed the ways to make the general strike a big success.
It may be added here that on March 28 and 29, 2022, a general strike has been called by a number of trade unions and farmers organizations of the country. The strike has been called against four labor laws laid down by the government.
The trade unions have put forth a six-point demand list that includes implementation of old pension scheme and ban on privatization of government equipment.
The two-day strike has been supported by several trade union outfits.
AITUC sources said that preparations are in full swing across the country as well as in Jamshedpur.
Today’s meeting was organized on Sunday at the Ambagan ground of Sakchi. The meeting discussed issues related to the strike.
INTUC state president Rakeshwar Pandey, AITUC district secretary Ambuj Thakur and several other trade union leaders were present in the meeting.
All resolved to make the strike a big success.
