Dereliction of security procedure is totally unacceptable and accountability will be fixed, says Amit Shah
Delhi: A serious security breach was reported during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab on Wednesday. The PM was stranded on a flyover for about 20 minutes as the road was reportedly blocked by some protestors.
The MHA has termed this as a serious security breach.
The Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah in a tweet has said that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has asked for a report from the Punjab Government on the security breach during the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s visit to Punjab today.
In his tweet, the Union Home Minister said, “The Ministry of Home Affairs has sought a detailed report on today’s security breach in Punjab. Such dereliction of security procedure in the Prime Minister’s visit is totally unacceptable and accountability will be fixed.”
The entire issue has caused a wave of concern on the social media. BJP has blamed Punjab government for lax security arrangements.
On the other hand Congress social media handles have blamed the BJP for making it an issue and have said that the issue has been raised because the PM’s rally did not have enough attendees.
However, most of the people on the social media were aghast at the brazenness with which some people were mocking the PM himself for the breach in his security instead of condemning the security lapse.
PM Modi had reached Bhatinda Airport and he was supposed to reach Hussainwala by helicopter. However, due to poor weather, the plan was changed and he had to travel by road.
However, his convoy was stranded on a flyover as some people caused a blockade on the road.
