Bajrang Dal activists today demonstrated at District police headquarters in Jamshedpur and urged the Admn to curb cases of alleged ‘love jehad’ and take action against those who trap innocent girls with ulterior motives.
Jamshedpur: A group of activists of Bajrang Dal, an outfit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, today held a demonstration at the district police headquarters in Jamshedpur to protest the alleged rise in number of cases of ‘love jehad’ in Jamshedpur.
The protestors urged the district administration to take effective steps to curb such incidents in which innocent girls are ‘trapped’ in a targeted manner.
Janardan Pandey, Convenor, Bajrang Dal East Singhbhum said that the number of ‘love jehad’ cases have increased sharply in Jamshedpur.
He said that a Hindu girl was allegedly abducted in Kadma area recently and till now no positive action has been taken by the police for tracing her.
He said that such ‘acts’ are being encouraged by the inaction and apathy of the state government.
He said that the administration is unable to curb rise in incidents in which innocent girls are trapped with a design and premeditated plan.
He warned that if the administration does not identify the people behind such crimes and does not arrest those who are carrying out such crimes, then this may cause resentment in the Hindu community and the latter may be compelled to launch agitation.
He said that some politicians are also behind such acts and they provide patronage to the wrongdoers.
He said that such acts are happening in several areas of the city and Hindu girls are being targeted for conversion.
He also urged the administration to take effective steps to curb such incidents and punish the wrongdoers.
He also demanded that the police form ‘Romeo squads’ on the lines of UP police to control and punish those who indulge in such crimes against women.
He said that it is the responsibility of the administration and the police to protest women and girls and punish those who ‘trap’ them with nefarious designs.
