In a major success, the city police have not only arrested 5 members of a bike lifter gang, but have also recovered 4 stolen motorcycles from their possession.
Jamshedpur: The district police have achieved a major success in their drive against theft and crime in the city. On Monday, around 9:30 pm, the police got information about the theft of a motorcycle from the Mango bus stand.
All the station in-charges were instructed by the Senior Superintendent of Police to launch an investigation.
During the investigation, three youths were arrested by the Mango police with a stolen motorcycle.
After interrogation, the police busted the motorcycle thief gang and recovered four motorcycles and arrested five persons.
Giving information regarding the incident, Dy SP Virendra Kumar Ram said that on receiving the information of motorcycle theft from Mango bus stand, a checking operation was conducted on the instructions of the Senior Superintendent of Police.
During the operation, four motorcycles were recovered and five persons were arrested.
The arrested accused include A Sirika, S Kumar alias Pochu, R Sundi, B Shandilya and R Prasad alias Situ.
The Dy SP told that the accused are seasoned bike lifters and have been involved in previous cases too.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that all the bikes were stolen from Sitaramdera, Mango and Azad Nagar police station area.
Jamshedpur Police is considering it as a big success.
For now, the police sent all the accused to judicial custody.
