MP Bidyut Mahato today assured the family of late Taranjit Singh that he would do everything to ensure justice is done in the case relating to Taranjit’s murder in Manila, Philippines.
Jamshedpur: The MP of Jamshedpur, Bidyut Baran Mahato reached the residence of late Taranjit Singh alias Sammy at Sitaramdera and met his family members. He assured the family of doing everything to ensure that justice is done in the case relating to Taranjit’s murder in Manila.
The MP met late Taranjit Singh’s mother Jasbir Kaur, maternal grandfather Gurdial Singh, maternal uncle Gurdeep Singh Pappu and Kuldeep Singh and consoled them.
The MP also apprised them with the steps taken by the Minister of State for External Affairs, Meenakshi Lekhi in this connection. He also made available a copy of the letter written by Ms Lekhi in this regard to the family members.
While assuring the family of the deceased, the MP said that he is standing with the family and will continue to make efforts for justice in the case.
At the same time, the victim’s family has also been asked to keep in touch with the Manila Ambassador to get information about further action being taken in the matter.
It may be recalled that on July 11, two unidentified assailants killed Indian businessman and restaurant owner Taranjit Singh on the Taitai National Highway in Manila, Philippines.
Police investigation revealed the fact that the killers had carried out contract killing.
This incident was raised in Lok Sabha by Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth and Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato.
After that the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of External Affairs became active.
The Prime Minister’s Office has sought a report relating to the incident from the district police administration.
The Ministry of External Affairs has also taken action and has contacted the family members.
The MP was accompanied by his representative Sanjeev Kumar, Mahanagar BJP President Gunjan Kumar Yadav, Mahanagar BJP SC/ST Morcha President Ajit Kalindi, Sitaramdera Mandal President Suresh Sharma, BJP leader Babua Singh, BJP leader Rocky Singh, entrepreneur Harjeet Singh Bittu and entrepreneur Rocky Singh.
