Health Minister issued orders to demolish dilapidated buildings in MGM Hospital and said that improvement would be visible shortly.
Jamshedpur: The state Health Minister Banna Gupta visited MGM Hospital on Friday and ordered steps to improve the conditions in the hospital.
The Health Minister saw the dilapidated buildings and issued orders to demolish them.
He also inspected the emergency ward of the hospital and checked all spaces, including toilets.

After taking stock of all the wards, he ordered the dilapidated buildings to be demolished.
He also issued instructions for road construction.
He also saw the construction work of a new building of 100 beds being built in the hospital premises.
After the inspection, the minister gave several directives to the officers.
He said that improvement would be visible in the hospital within the next 15 days.
He was accompanied by the DC Suraj Kumar as well as the Superintendent of MGM Hospital.
The Health Minister also sought suggestions of all the officials for changes in MGM.
Minister Banna Gupta said that the old buildings would soon be replaced with a well-equipped building with modern arrangements.
The hospital will be equipped with all facilities.
He said informed that three new buildings are proposed to be constructed in which OPD, emergency and administrative building will be arranged in a systematic way.
Also all the buildings will be connected to each other so that there is no inconvenience to the patients and doctors.
He said that a CT Scan machine and an MRI machine will be installed in MGM.
There is an action plan to have 1500 beds in the hospital in the coming days.
A temporary ICU bed unit of 100 beds has been started.
He said that there is a proposal to digitize the OPD system and implement e-hospital management system.
Instructions have been given to ensure the arrangement of dish washing and also to increase the capacity of oxygen plant located at MGM from 13KL to 20KL.
Manpower will be increased through outsourcing to overcome the shortage of hands.
From the point of view of security of MGM, the boundary wall too would be constructed. Along with this, all roads in MGM Hospital will be repaired.
Instructions were given to make ticket counters and waiting rooms for the convenience of the patients.
It was proposed to have separate chambers for the doctors.
The minister said that the burn unit, ICU and CCU will be improved in the hospital.
To overcome the shortage of doctors, new appointments would be made at the contractual and departmental level.
The minister said that it is the resolve of Chief Minister Hemant Soren to improve MGM Hospital.
For this, preparations are being done at different levels.
Soon a high-level meeting will be held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister to review the changes in MGM Hospital, he revealed.
During his visit, the DC Suraj Kumar, the SSP Dr. M Tamil Vanan, SDO Sandeep Kumar Meena, MGM Superintendent, Captain Dhananjay Mishra of Jusco and other administrative officers were also present.
