Schools to reopen for Std 9-12, offices to function with 100% staff

Coaching classes for above 18 students allowed, theatres with 50% capacity

Ranchi: In view of some improvement on the Covid-19 front and the decrease in the number of new infections as well as deaths, the Jharkhand government has eased the lockdown restrictions even further to allow business and educational institutions to function with more freedom and relaxed norms.

In the meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority the government has taken a few important decisions. An order was passed by the Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh in this regard on Friday.

Now classes from 9th to 12th can be taken offline. The government has also given permission to open coaching institutes. However, schools will run only till 12 pm and children will be able to attend schools only after getting their parents’ consent.

Interstate bus services will also be operational. On Sundays, the hotels are allowed to open till 10 pm.

All shops in all districts are allowed to remain open till 8 pm. But establishments apart from restaurants, bars and essential services (grocery stores, and fruit and vegetable shops) will have to stay shut from 8 pm on Saturday till Monday 6 am.

Besides, all government and private offices have been allowed to function with 100% of their staff.

Some salient points of the unlock decision are as under:

  • All shops are permitted to open till 8 pm in all districts.
  • Restaurants and bars are permitted to operate sit-in dining at 50% capacity on all days including Sunday till 10 p.m.
  • All shops shall remain closed from 8 pm on Saturday to 6 am on Monday. Bars, restaurants, shops and street vendors selling fruits, vegetables, grocery items, sweets, poultry, milk outlets and shops selling eatables are permitted to open on Sunday.
  • All government and private offices will be able to open with 100% human resources.
  • Cinema halls, bars, multiplexes, restaurants will be able to open with 50% capacity.
  • Clubs will also be able to open on all days including Sunday till 10 pm.
  • All teachers and non-teaching personnel will be present in all schools and colleges.
  • Classes 9, 10, 11, 12 will be able to open in the school. Online education will continue. Parental permission will be mandatory. There will be a maximum of 4 hours of study. Will study till 12 noon.
  • The final year classes of UG and PG will be opened in the college. Online education will continue. There will be a maximum of 4 hours of study.
  • Will study till 12 noon. At least one vaccine will be mandatory for the students.
  • ITI / Skill Development Center / Polytechnic will be able to open. Online education will continue. At least one vaccine will be mandatory for the students.
  • Classes will be open for students above 18 years of age in the coaching institute. Online education will continue. Only 50% of the room’s capacity will be used. At least one vaccine will be mandatory for students and teachers.
  • In open educational institutions, covid tests of students and teachers and other staff will be done from time to time.
  • Other educational institutions will remain closed.
  • Anganwadi centers will remain closed but food items will be provided to the beneficiaries at home.
  • There will be a ban on the gathering of more than 100 people in an open space.
  • There will be a restriction on the gathering of more than 50% of the capacity or 100 persons, whichever is less, in a closed space.
  • Religious places will remain closed for devotees.
  • The ban on the procession will continue.
  • Interstate bus transport was allowed. The examination will be conducted by the state government / institutions of the government of India. National level examination was also allowed. The final year examination of UG and PG was allowed in the college.
  • The ban on fair and exhibition will continue.
  • Swimming pools will remain closed.
  • E pass will not be necessary to come to Jharkhand from other state or to go from Jharkhand to other state
  • It is mandatory to wear mask in public place and maintain social distance.
  • In case of violation of the order, action will be taken by registering an FIR under the relevant section of the Disaster Management Act.
