Jamshedpur: The MLA of Jugsalai Mangal Kalindi met the Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Ranchi on Tuesday. He urged the CM to ensure that a degree college is set up in Barabanki under his constituency.
The MLA also submitted a memorandum to the CM and requested him to ensure that the degree college is opened as soon as possible in Barabanki to that it caters to the need of a large rural population of that area.
The memorandum says that a similar memorandum has also been submitted to the vice-chancellor of the university.
He said that the university has taken cognisance of the long-pending demand and the Syndicate of Kolhan University passed a resolution on March 20, 2021 in a meeting.
A proposal has also been submitted to the Higher and Technical Education Department of Jharkhand through Kolhan University.
The MLA appealed to Chief Minister Hemant Soren to establish a degree college at the site at the earliest for the bright future of the students.
MLA Mangal Kalindi said that there is a need for a degree college in the district.
