Ulidih youth shoots his 17-year-old friend dead in Sakchi, arrested

Jamshedpur: In a sensational development, a youth killed his 17-year-old friend near V2 mall in Sakchi on Friday. The shooting in broad daylight created quite a flutter in the area.

A few locals caught the accused and handed him over to the police team that arrived at the site after some time.

The locals also rushed the badly injured youth to MGMCH. However, the doctors declared him brought dead.

The sources said that the two youths, the shooter and the deceased were friends. The deceased P Singh was a resident of Mango Teachers Colony, while the accused is a resident of Ulidih.

Police sources said that the accused had called P singh near V2 Mall.

Both had reached Sakchi with their friends.

The accused asked other friends of P Singh to bring some edible items. As soon as they went away, he allegedly shot P Singh in chest.

After shooting P Singh, the accused allegedly tried to flee the place. However, some people present there caught him and handed him over to the police.

P Singh’s friends say that the accused and the deceased had had a dispute some six months back. Later, the accused had befriended Prabhakar under a plan.

They said that the accused had called the deceased Friday late night. However, the deceased had refused to come out of house late night. On Saturday, since morning the accused has been calling the deceased to come to Sakchi. Finally, P Singh reached there and he was shot by the accused after some time.

The police are interrogating the accused for now.

The SSP Dr. M Tamil Vanan himself reached the site of occurrence and sought details from the senior police officers.

Later, the SSP said that five friends had assembled to have a party. Two friends went to get food packed. There were three inside the car including the accused, deceased and another person. In the meantime the accused shot P Singh by putting the katta (country-made pistol) on his chest. This muffled the sound of the shot.

Police are investigating the case and are trying to know the motive and reasons for the killing.
