7 arrested in Adityapur with 93 packets of brown sugar

Adityapur: Seraikela-Kharsawan police achieved a major success in busting a brown sugar racket in Adityapur area.

The district police have been conducting several raids around the district to curb the illegal trade of narcotics. However, the sale of brown sugar and other narcotic substances still continues.

During the last one fortnight, dozens of brown sugar traders have been sent behind bars in the district.

On Friday took, Adityapur police arrested seven youths and recovered 93 packets of Brown Sugar from Alkatra Dum Basti and sent them to judicial custody.

The seized brown sugar weighs around 10 grams.

The SP of Seraikela-Kharsawan Anand Prakash said that the district police has launched a special drive against illegal trade of narcotics.

He said that this business of brown sugar may be having some links with gangs operating from Ranchi.

He said that the district police would soon bust the entire racket and would arrest the kingpin of this illegal trade.
