Jamshedpur: The Principal Secretary of the Health Department, Arun Singh, inspected MGMCH on Monday and expressed displeasure at the state of affairs in the biggest government hospital of Kolhan.
He had arrived Jamshedpur on a one-day visit.
During his visit, Mr. Singh showed dissatisfaction at the condition of the hospital.
He said that doctors should be more sensitive to patients, hinting that they were not showing enough sensitivity to the needs of the patients.
He said that there is a huge lack of enthusiasm among the doctors. The way they work, it seems that there is a heavy burden on them, it needs to be improved, he hinted.
In view of the possibility of the third wave of corona epidemic, the infrastructure of all the hospitals of the state is being reviewed as per the guidelines of the state government. The purpose is to ensure that patients can get better medical facilities in the third wave of corona.
Mr. Arun Singh inspected the new building being constructed. He held a meeting with the doctors.
He also took stock of the infrastructure along with health facilities in MGM Hospital.
He found many shortcomings in the hospital.
Even in the emergency department of the hospital, two doctors were found without uniform.
He reprimanded them.
Later, speaking to reporters, he said that the doctors of the hospital are not sensitive towards the patients the way they should be.
He said that the whole atmosphere is disappointing. The infrastructure of the hospital is also not good and needs improvement.
He said that doctors should show more discipline. He said that action will be taken for this.
If the doctor wants, they can provide better medical services to the patients with whatever facilities are available.
He was accompanied by the Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar, ADM Nand Kishore Lal, Civil Surgeon AK Lal, Captain Dhananjay Mishra of Jusco, Hospital Superintendent Sanjay Singh, Deputy Superintendent Nakul Chaudhary and other government officials.
