Ranchi: The Chief Minister Hemant Soren reached Jagannath temple at Dhurwa and offered prayer and prayed to Bhagwan Jagannath for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state on the occasion of Rath Yatra.
Due to the closure of the main temple, the Chief Minister offered prayer from outside the main temple premises.
As per the guidelines of the government, it has been decided to keep the doors of the temple closed for the common people, that is why the Chief Minister also offered prayers from outside the temple.
The Chief Minister extended his best wishes on the occasion of Rath Yatra to the people of the state and the country.

Addressing the media on the temple premises, the Chief Minister said that on the occasion of Rath yatra, there used to be a lot of activity in the temple premises of Lord Jagannath every year with great enthusiasm.
It is unfortunate that Rath Yatra has not been taken out this year as well due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation.
He said that many people have lost their lives in this global pandemic. Many people have lost their families and many children have lost their parents. The danger is not over yet.
Keeping this in mind, the state government, with a heavy heart, has not allowed to take out Rath Yatra this year as well.
The Chief Minister has appealed to the people to seek blessings of Lord Jagannath by staying at their respective homes.
On the occasion, Smt. Kalpana Soren, wife of the Chief Minister, Shri Abhishek Prasad, Press Advisor to the Chief Minister and others were also present.
