Jamshedpur: Kolhan DIG Rajiv Ranjan Singh arrived in Jamshedpur Police Headquarters on Thursday to hold a meeting. He has now been transferred to Ranchi as the new DIG.
Mr. Singh arrived in the city on Thursday. He would soon be handing over charge to the new DIG Kolhan Asim Vikrant Minj.
After the guard of honor at the headquarters, he held a meeting with the police officers in the auditorium of the SSP office.
During this, he rewarded officers who performed well during the anti-narcotic campaign launched by the police. The police officers who performed well were rewarded with cash reward and citations.
Speaking to the media, the DIG said that he was happy with his 14-month tenure in Kolhan.
He said that despite covid epidemic, the police officers of the three districts extended him full cooperation. During the tenure of 14 months, the corona infection has been challenging, he said. Despite that crime was tightly controlled in all the three districts.
During his tenure a task force formed to crack down on traders of brown sugar, drugs and narcotics and the teams did their job very well.
He said that in a short period of time in East Singhbhum district, the task force team recovered 2.610 kg of marijuana, 25 packets of brown sugar, 33 pieces whitener, 7 pieces n-10 tablets, one bullet with 3.15, one motorcycle besides Rs 31,540.
He said that besides these, 15 accused were arrested in the raid and sent to judicial custody.
On the other hand, in Seraikela Kharsawan district, about 5 kg of ganja, 197 packets of brown sugar were seized and 5 accused have been arrested by the police.
Jamshedpur Police led by City SP Subash Chandra Jat arrested 15 smugglers and sent them to judicial custody.
He felicitated the members the task force by giving them cash prize and citation.
He said that the role of common people is important in conducting the campaign against drug peddlers.
He appealed to the common people to cooperate with the police so that the police can get leads for cracking down on the criminals.
At the same time, he also described the arrest of absconding accused Harish Dubey from Punjab as important.
He expressed hopes that the police would continue making efforts to turn the district into a drug-free district.
