Land dispute reason for murder, all accused sent to judicial custody
Jamshedpur: The Seraikela-Kharsawan police have unravelled the case relating to murder of Shamim Ahmed, who was killed on June 26 last at Hansdadungri under the jurisdiction of Kapali police station.
On Tuesday, the SP Anand Prakash revealed that 4 persons involved in the crime, including the main accused, have been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
However, one accused in this case is still absconding, he added.
The SP Anand Prakash said that soon the absconding accused too will be arrested.
Giving details about the arrests, the SP said that the the murder was carried out as a consequence of a land dispute.
The accused were identified by the police as Mohammad Afaq, Mohammad Akhtar, Mohammad Azharuddin and Mohammad Saifullah alias Kallu.
The police have recovered a stick and a used cartridge and three mobile phones that were used in the crime.
The SP said that Afaq’s father had bought 4 katthas of land in his name, out of which he sold 2 katthas of land to Shabbir for 4 lakhs.
According to the SP, he was trying to barricade and construct a boundary wall around the remaining 2 katthas of land. Whom
However, the SP said, Shamim Ahmed had stopped the construction of boundary claiming that the land belonged to him.
Enraged at this, Afaq, along with his friends, got Shamim Ahmed shot dead, the SP added.
For this, he said, Afaq had given a contract for Rs 16 thousand to his friends for eliminating Shamim. More money was to be paid after the crime, the SP added.
The SP lauded the investigation carried out by the Chandil SDPO and Kapali police and appreciated their efforts in cracking the tricky murder case.
The SP said that the police teams are conducting raids to arrest one more absconding accused.
