New Delhi: Suvendu Adhikari will be the leader of opposition in West Bengal Assembly. The BJP has nominated him as the Leader of Opposition in the legislative assembly of West Bengal.
Mr. Suvendu Adhikari thanked BJP leadership for having reposed their faith in his leadership. He said that he would hold the government accountable and defend the rights and interests of the people of West Bengal.
With his nomination as the Leader of the Opposition, the assembly floor is likely to see a direct confrontation between the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and him once again.
With ex-Congressman Himanta Biswa Sarma making it as the new Chief Minister of Assam, and ex-TMC leader Suvendu Adhikari being nominated as the Leader of Opposition in Assembly, the BJP leadership has disproven the myth that leaders from other parties cannot climb party echelons easily.
There are many who feel that this would send a positive signal to many leaders in other parties to seek a future in BJP.
