Jamshedpur: District administration would launch a special drive in Sakchi and other areas to clear the footpaths of different roads of encroachment from Tuesday.
The district administration has been appealing to the vendors to not set up shop on footpaths and at roadside in the markets. Despite repeated appeals, many vendors are not paying any heed to administration’s requests. The district administration, in response, has now decided to deal with careless vendors strictly.
Even on Monday, the district administration made public announcements through loudspeakers appealing to everyone not to set up shops on footpath. They were warned that a special drive would be launched to clear encroachments.
It may be added here that earlier too, the admiration had taken action against some permanent shopkeepers for keeping their wares outside the shops. The situation remained controlled for a few days. But things are once again going back to the usual as vendors have started flouting the norms and directives.
On Monday too, JNAC officials got a few shops on the roadside cleared on the instruction of the DC.
An appeal was made to the vendors to desist from putting up shops on roads and footpath.
The City Manager of JNAC, Ravi Bharati, said that warnings have been issued on Monday and the real anti-encroachment drive would be launched on Tuesday. A few vendors who had spread waste materials here and there were asked to clear the place too.
He said that legal action would also be taken from tomorrow against the defaulting vendors.
