35 new patients found, 34 cured, recovery rate 97%, mortality rate 2.2%, positivity 4.2%
Jamshedpur: Coronavirus did not cause any death in Jamshedpur or East Singhbhum district on Tuesday after claiming one life on Sunday. The total death toll remains at 374.
According to official data, on the other hand, 35 new coronavirus positive cases were detected in the district. With this, the total number of infections in the district has now reached 16,985.
Meanwhile, 34 patients were also declared cured and were discharged from different hospitals of the district. The number of total recoveries has now reached 16,409.
For now, the districts only 202 active cases of coronavirus infections.
As per official data, till date, 4,00,768 samples have been tested in the district. Out of these, 16,915 samples have tested positive, while 3,83,783 samples have tested negative.
The recovery rate in the district has been hovering around 97%, while the mortality rate remains at 2.2%. The positivity rate in the district is sliding below 5% and has now reached 4.2%.
Experts believe that low positivity rate is a good indication and shows that the tough measures taken by the district administration as well as awareness created among the citizens might be working and helping in containing the spread of the disease.
