Jamshedpur: In a tragic accident, a 10-year-old child Ritik Dongo was killed in a road mishap near Delhi Public School at Turiabera under the jurisdiction of MGM Police Station at around 8 p.m. on Saturday. The child was crushed by a soil-carrying truck. The child died on the spot. He was going for attending natural call when a speeding truck crushed him.
The truck driver managed to escape after hitting the child. However, the villagers later traced him and his truck near a brick kiln. The villagers also caught the driver.
The police have reached the place and are trying to send the dead body for post mortem. The villagers are, however, demanding a compensation of Rs. 10 lakh to the affected family. They are also not allowing the police to send the dead body for post mortem.
Ritik was a student of class VI and he was the eldest child in his family. The family has been in utter grief after the demise of the child.
The locals said that trucks carry soil and sand on the road in speed and they pose a risk to the commuters’ lives. They demanded Rs. 10 lakh compensation. The villagers have blocked the road and are not allowing the police to send the dead body for post mortem.
