5 lives lost to corona in Jharkhand on Tuesday, total deaths 969

181 new cases, 227 cured, mortality 0.88%, recovery 97.31%

Ranchi: Tuesday proved to be a bad day for Jharkhand as it lost 5 lives to coronavirus pandemic after a brief lull for a period when only a few deaths were reported. With 5 casualties on Tuesday, the total death toll due to coronavirus for Jharkhand on Tuesday has reached 969.

On the other hand, 181 new cases of coronavirus infection were also reported in the state. 227 patients were also cured and discharged, while 5 succumbed to the virus.

As per official data, a total of 42,15,824 samples have been tested in the state till Tuesday. Out of these only 1,09,332 samples have tested positive. The state has been able to cure and discharge 1,06,398 patients till date, while 969 patients have died.

For now, the state has only 1,965 active cases of coronavirus infection.

The mortality rate for the state has now reached 0.88%, while the recovery rate has topped 97.31%.

East Singhbhum remains the worst-affected district of the state. However, not a single death has been reported from that district for the last 4 days.
