27 new cases found, 47 cured and discharged, Rs. 1.21 lakh collected as fine for not wearing mask and helmet
Jamshedpur: Even while the East Singhbhum district administration braces for a steep rise in coronavirus pandemic figures, the virus spared the district on Monday as the day passed off without any casualty. The total death toll for the district remains at 369.
On the other hand, 2,357 persons were tested for coronavirus on Monday. 27 persons out of these were found positive.
Among those who were found positive on Monday were 22 from the city, 2 from Chakulia, two from Dumaria and one from Musaboni.
The number of total infections in the city has now reached 16,591. On Monday itself, 859 samples were tested. Till date, 3,62,450 samples have been tested in the district. Out of these 3,33,096 samples have tested negative, while 16,591 samples have tested positive.
On the other hand, 47 patients were also declared cured and were discharged from different hospitals of the city. Till Monday, 15,999 covid-19 patients in the district have been cured and discharged.
Meanwhile, the district administration launched a massive Operation Mask in the city. Police have fined 39 persons who were roaming around without mask. On the other hand, 53 persons driving without helmets were also fined. In all, Rs. 1.21 lakh was collected as fine by the district administration on Monday.
