Jamshedpur: The district administration and the state government is apprehending a resurge in coronavirus pandemic in the wake of several festivals and in view of oncoming festival of Christmas as well as new year celebrations.
Coronavirus pandemic data is still worrisome, as after waning for a few weeks, it has against started showing a bounce back in several parts of the country.
Several states, including the national capital New Delhi, are in the grips of the second wave of coronavirus.
In view of the risks of pandemic resurge, the state government and the health department have gone on an alert mode.
Soon after the conclusion of Chhath festival, the district administration has decided to launch a massive testing drive in the district.
All the check posts of the city are being revamped.
The ADM (Law & Order) Nand Kishore Lal said that those who arrive from outside Jamshedpur to bus stands, railway stations and check posts would be tested strictly.
Apart from expanding the testing facilities, arrangements would also be made to test more people at railway stations.
He said that the institutions and organisations that do not comply with social distancing norms, would be sealed and the guilty would be sent to camp jails.
He said that quarantine centres too would be revamped.
