Jamshedpur: A dead body of an unidentified male was found from a drain in New Lay-out Are under the jurisdiction of Sitaramdera police station. The news of a dead body being found in a drain caused quite a commotion in the area. The dead body had decomposed completely. The locals informed the police about it.
A team of Sitaramdera police arrived at the site of occurrence soon and got the dead body out of the gutter after a lot of effort for 3 hours.
Police said that the dead body may be of a person who had died 3 or 4 days back. As it was completely decomposed, it was hard for anyone to identify the dead body.
It was difficult to spot any wound or scratch mark too at first site.
According to locals, the drain was jammed for quite a few days. The locals arrived there to examine the reason for the drain water not flowing freely. They found a dead body lying inside the gutter. On seeing this, they informed the local police.
The officer in charge of Sitaramdera police station Anjani Kumar said that the dead body has been sent to MGM College Hospital for post mortem. He said that the reason for death would be known only after the post mortem report comes and then the police would take further action.
