Jamshedpur: Thieves continue to harass citizens of Jamshedpur. And from commoners to VIPs, all are being targeted by them. The number of theft incidents have seen a rise in the city in the recent days as the police officials continue to focus on containing corona and crime together.
In the fresh incident, unidentified thieves targeted the house of a former police officer of Jharkhand Shailendra Singh.
Shailendra Singh’s house is situated in Teachers’ Colony under the jurisdiction of Sitaramdera police station.
He had gone out of town with his family and had returned on Wednesday. Entire family slept after dinner. In the morning of Thursday, the housekeeper saw that the briefcase was thrown on the roof. He informed Shailendra Singh. Later, they found that the thieves had decamped with valuables worth Rs. 4-5 lakh.
Shailendra Singh informed the Sitaramdera police and two officers arrived to investigate the matter.
Shailendra Singh has worked as police inspector in Jamshedpur earlier.
The incident shows that thieves have become fearless and they are not desisting from targeting even former police officers.
