Excise dept raids and destroys 4 country-made liquor units in Potka

Jamshedpur: The Excise department carried out a series of raids against illegal hooch manufacture and sale units in Potka. Two such hooch units were destroyed on Thursday and 180 litres of country-liquor (Mahua) was also seized. Two more such units were also raided and destroyed on Friday in Bardhagoda.

The Excise Department officials also raided several other places in Parsudih, Daiguttu, Kumrum Bustee and Mango and arrested one person.

The Excise department also seized 300 kg of Mahua, used as the raw material for country-made liquor. 60 litres of country-liquor was also seized on the occasion.

The raids were carried out on the instructions of Assistant Commissioner of Excise Department, East Singhbhum under the supervision of Executive Magistrate.
