Corona in Jamshedpur on Friday: 2 deaths, total 347 deaths, 36 new cases, 50 cured

Recovery rate for East Singhbhum 90%, Mortality rate 2.2%, Positivity rate 5.7%

Jamshedpur: After some let-up for a couple of days, Coronavirus has again taken 2 more lives in Jamshedpur on Friday. With this, the total number of deaths caused by Covid-19 infection in East Singhbhum district has now reached 347.

According to official data, 36 new coronavirus infection cases were also detected in the district on Friday, taking the total number of infections for the district to 15,506. On the other hand, 50 patients of corona virus were also declared cured and were discharged from different hospitals as well as home quarantine. The total number of cured and discharged patients in the district has now reached 13,988.

The official data say that till Friday evening, East Singhbhum district has tested 2,70,554 samples for coronavirus. Out of these, 15,506 samples have tested positives hile 2,55,048 samples came out negative.

Till Friday evening, there were 1171 active cases of coronavirus infection in East Singhbhum district.

The recovery rate for the district has now reached 90%. The mortality rate at 2.2% is still on the higher side compared to the national mortality rate of 1.5% and state mortality rate of 0.87%.

The total positivity rate for the district till Friday is 5.7%. A positivity rate of less than 5% is deemed good and the district is very close to moving to that position.
