3 arrested with firearms in Bagbera, sent to jail

Jamshedpur: In a major achievement right amidst Durga Puja festivities, Jamshedpur police have arrested three youths with firearms and have sent them to judicial custody on Friday.

According to Dy SP (Law & Order) Alok Ranjan, Bagbera police had received a tip-off about three youths with firearms and on the basis of the tip-off they arrested the three youths with one desi katta, one pistol, live cartridge and a Scooty bike. All three were sent to judicial custody.

The Dy SP said that the police had received tip-off that three youths with illegal firearms were roaming around Wireless Maidan in Bagbera area. A team was formed under the leadership of the officer-in-charge of Bagbera police and then the team arrested three youths – Popo Munda, Sushil Patro and Rajnish Kumar Gupta, with one desi katta, one live cartridge, one desi pistol and two live cartridges.

The Dy SP said that Popo Munda has had a criminal antecedent and he has been named in different criminal cases in the city, while Sushil Patro too has a criminal antecedents.

He said that for now they have been sent to judicial custody and the police will seek their remand for further interrogation.
