Jamshedpur: The state government would provide oximeters to those Corona patients who are living under home isolation.
The Chief Minister Hemant Soren has issued directives to the Health Department to ensure that the coronavirus patients asked to go through home isolation are provided oximeters too.
The Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that despite limited resources, the state government of Jharkhand is trying its best to strengthen health infrastructure in the state.
He said that those who are being asked to live in home isolation after testing positive for corona would also be given oximeters. Instructions have been issued to the officers in this regard, he said.
Oximeter is an instrument that indicates the level of oxygen in blood. It is a non-invasive light-based instrument and the readings of 95 to 100 are taken as normal.
If the oxygen level falls below 94, a patient needs to seek medical help as it may cause breathing difficulties and artificial ventilation may be required.
Oximeter keeps a patient aware of the level of oxygen in his body.
It may be added here that the Arvind Kejriwai government in Delhi does provide oximeter to corona patients during home isolation. Once a patient turns negative, he has to return the oximeter to the government.
The oximeter costs around Rs. 1000 to 5000 in the market.
