Naushad’s wife Shabana demands FIR against police officers

Jamshedpur: Shabana Perween, wife of Naushad, who had died recently allegedly a few days after police interrogation, has demanded filing of an FIR and appropriate action against police officers and policemen allegedly responsible for her husband’s death.

In a letter submitted to the SSP, she has demanded justice. She has written that on August 21 last when the locals of Golmuri had blockaded the main road, the SDO and the City SP had assured them that any action would be taken on the basis of the post mortem report.

However, she alleged, that the post mortem report has not been revealed to them yet.

She said that non-availability of post mortem report has been creating suspicion in their mind.

Shabana Perween has now written a letter to the SSP demanding action against the police officers and policemen involved in interrogation of her husband.

Deceased Naushad’s wife submitted a letter to SSP requesting action against guilty police officers.

Police had launched a probe into the reasons of death of a Golmuri youth Naushad.

The family members had earlier too alleged that Naushad had died due to merciless beating by the police.

On August 21 last, a large number of locals had demonstrated and held a protest with road blockade in Golmuri demanding action in the case.

The administration had assured the protestors that a probe would be conducted to ascertain the reasons of death of the youth.

On the instructions of the DC of East Singhbhum Suraj Kumar a medical board had conducted the post mortem.

The executive magistrate Manmohan Prasad was present during the post mortem. After the post mortem, the body was handed over to the family.

Naushad’s death parked a public protest and ruckus in Golmuri on August 21. The locals had blocked the Golmuri Main Road demanding action against the responsible police officers.

According to the family and the locals, the police had rounded up Naushad in connection with a theft case and had allegedly beaten him mercilessly.

The locals said that after beating him up mercilessly the police left him in MGMCH without registering any case. The family members were informed by the hospital and asked to take him to TMH.

The locals had claimed that after treating him at TMH for a couple of days the family was again asked to take him to RIMS. When they took him there he died soon after admission in RIMS.

Jamshedpur City SP had assured the protestors that a probe would be done and post mortem would be conducted by a medical board.
