Effigies of miscreants burnt, huge protest held demanding strict punishment to culprits
Jamshedpur: The steel city today burst out in anger against the incident in which a minor girl was tortured by a group of miscreants at Govindpur Theme Park. While most people are shocked and angry at the incident, a large number of them also hit the roads burning effigies of the miscreants and demanding strict punishment to them.
A huge protest was held today in the city. Led by social activists Chandan Yadav and his wife Satna Yadav, the angry citizens took out a foot march from Birsanagar New Bridge to Baridih Roundabout.

The protestors also burnt effigies of the miscreants and demanded that the state government and the district administration not only ensure strict punishment to the culprits, but also take steps which can ensure that no recurrence of such incidents take place in the city and the state.
Other social activists of the city are also aghast at the incident.

Social activist Satna Yadav said that immediate action be taken to punish the culprits and the government and legal machinery should not treat it the way Nirbhaya case was treated which took years to send the culprits to the gaol.
Social activist Chandan Yadav also demanded that legal processes be expedited to punish the culprits and harshest punishment be meted out to them to teach them as well as other miscreants a lesson.
The general secretary of Youth Unity for Voluntary Action, Barnali Chakraborty has also condemned the incident and has urged that strict punishment be ensured for the culprits and all those who were involved in the incident be arrested immediately.
She said that safety of women and girls should be the top priority for administration and the government.

She also demanded immediate financial help and other steps to provide relief to the victim as well as to her family to help them come out of this trauma.
It may be recalled that a minor girl was abducted and violated by a group of miscreants in Theme Park at Govindpur. The girl is in serious condition and under treatment. Three have been arrested, others are absconding in the case.
In this shocking incident, reminding one of the Nirbhaya incident of New Delhi, a 16-year-old minor girl was going to her maternal uncle’s house in Gadra on Tuesday, when she was abducted on the way by four miscreants and physically abused.
The police confirmed that the miscreants abducted her and forcibly took her to Theme Park in Govindpur and violated her.
When her father learnt that she had not reached maternal uncle’s house, she searched for her and having failed to trace her later reached police station and filed a missing report.
Birsanagar police started a massive search for the girl. The minor victim was found Wednesday evening.
The victim told the police that four miscreants abducted her and physically violated her.
On the basis of her statement, the police identified three accused and are looking for one absconding accused.
