Firing on builder was stage-managed to implicate partner, 7 arrested: Police

Adityapur: The firing at the builder Sanjay Mohanty on July 18 last was staged. The Seraikela-Kharsawan police have cracked the mystery behind the firing at builder Sanjay Mohanty’s car on July 18 last. The police have also arrested seven criminals and sent them to jail in this connection.

According to the police, the mastermind of the firing case was none else but the Builder Sanjay Mohanty himself.

The police say that this incident was planned and staged by Sanjay Mohanty to get his business partner Ashok Pradhan implicated in the case and to get a government body-guard for himself.

The SP of Seraikela-Kharsawan Md Arshi said that the Builder Sanjay Mohanty, his brother-in-law Shankar Kunwar, driver Santosh Chouhan and an employee Shankar Paul had hatched this conspiracy and got the firing stage-managed for Rs. 2.10 lakhs.

The contract for this stage-managed firing was given to Chand Kumar Nayak alias Masa, Ajay Mandal, Amit Pal and Shankar Pal.

The police cracked the case and also recovered a 7.65 bore country-made pistol, a 7.65 bore live cartridge, Rs. 15,170 in cash, 8 mobiles, one Pulsar bike and a non-registered Scooty.

The SP said that the incident is linked with a land dispute.

The SP said that all the arrested criminals have accepted their involvement in the case.

He said that Sanjay Mohanty has had a criminal record and the police are investigating the same.

Seven persons have been arrested in the case relating to firing on builder.

It may be recalled that two criminals had fired indiscriminately at builder Sanjay Mohanty’s car near Mangalam City under the jurisdiction of Adityapur police station in Seraikela-Kharsawan district Saturday on July 18, in which he had escaped unscathed.

It was claimed that builder Sanjay Mohanty was sitting on the rear seat of his car.

His driver Santosh claimed that they were going back after buying medicines from Adityapur.

However, now the investigations have proven that the entire incident was stage-managed.
