Jamshedpur: A two-member delegation of Akhil Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha met the District Education Officer Monday and
demanded action against the Principal and teacher of Sant Nandlal Smriti Vidya Mandir for allegedly asking the students to memorise the national anthems of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The delegation condemned the incident and also submitted a memorandum to the DEO demanding action against the allegedly erring teacher and principal of the school.
The memorandum says that a teacher of Sant Nand Lal Smriti Vidya Mandir in Ghatshila, S Perween, had asked the students to memorise the national anthems of Pakistan and Bangladesh as a part of their home work.
Condemning this, Hindu Mahasabha said that the principal Ashfaque S K Mallick and the teacher S Perween both should be booked for treason and demanded that the registration of such schools be cancelled immediately.
The delegation was led by the Jharkhand State president of Hindu Mahasabha Dharma Chandra Poddar. Saraswati Kumari was also a part of the delegation.
Later, in a press release, Poddar wondered why the school children were being asked to memorise the national anthems of Pakistan and Bangladesh, when most of them do not remember even the national anthem of their own country.
