Jamshedpur: The Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren has home quarantined himself. All the officers and employees of CM Office have also been asked to go on home quarantine.
The order came after the drinking water and sanitation minister Mithilesh Thakur tested positive for Covid-19. The chief minister had attended the Grih Pravesh ceremony of Mithilesh Thakur’s government quarters.
Confirming his home quarantine the chief minister in a message said: “My colleague minister Sri Mithilesh Thakur ji and Mr. Mathura Mahato ji have been found corona positive. Both the friends are now under treatment in hospital. As a precautionary measure I would also remain in self-isolation. I would remain in self-isolation, but would continue to discharge important work. I appeal to you to avoid going to crowded places and use mask. I would like to remind you to keep social distancing, while reducing the distance in hearts.”
The Covid-19 virus has managed to reach the Hemant Soren cabinet too. The drinking water and sanitation minister Mithilesh Thakur has tested positive for Corona. He has been admitted in the Covid-19 ward of RIMS.
Apart from him, a JMM MLA and a former minister, Mathura Pd Mahato too has been found Covid-19 positive.
The fact that a minister and an MLA have tested positive has sent a wave of concern through the government machinery.
It may be added here that the minister Mithilesh Thakur has been touring different parts of the state for the last several days. A day before he tested positive, he had toured Hatia Dam. He had also been attending meetings in his office.

Now, contact tracing is being done to identify the people who had come in his contact.
The MLA too has been meeting several people during his meetings.
