PLFI rebel arrested from Porahat after fierce encounter

Chaibasa: A joint combing team of West Singhbhum police and CRPF jawans had a fierce encounter with a squad of Peopleś Liberation Front of India (PLFI) at Udalkam Hills in Porahat forests of West Singhbhum. They arrested one of the rebels, sources said.

Cops confiscated three rifles, hundreds of bullets, magazines, uniforms, Naxalite literature, solar lights, bags and other items from the scene.

Sources said the PLFI rebels fired hundreds of rounds at police. In retaliation, district police and paramilitary jawans too, fired hundreds of rounds, forcing the rebels to retreat.

Police team was jointly led by SP Operation Pranav Anand Jha and Second-in-Command of CRPF Battallion No 60 Raju D Nayak. The operation will continue in the entire forest area, sources said.

SP Indrajeet Mahatha and CRPF DIG SS Rawat camped in Sonua and monitored the search operation.
