Congress leader Avtar Singh Tari passes away

Jamshedpur: Congress leader Avtar Singh Tari died on Wednesday. He breathed his last at 6 am at Tata Main Hospital where he was taken on Tuesday evening following a heart attack.

In the morning he got another heart attack which proved fatal.

Tariś son Ravinder Singh Saini said his father would be cremated in the afternoon.

Soon after the news spread, many dignitaries including former district Congress president Ravindra Kumar Jha and other party leaders visited Tariś Circuit House residence to pay their last respects.

He was cremated in the afternoon. A large number of family, friends and supporters took part in the last rituals and cremation ceremony.

He was a popular Congress leader and was known for his humility and easy-going nature.
