Jamshedpur: Union leader Rakeshwar Pandeyś appointment as the state Intuc president, it seems, has not gone down well with many of his adversaries. He has succeeded former Intuc leader and MLA of Bermo late Rajendra Singh who passed away recently.
Not surprisingly, those opposing Pandey´s appointment are being led by none other than late Rajendra Singh’s son Shiv Mangal Singh alias Anup Singh.
Anup has been made senior vice president of Intuc. He alleged that Pandeyś appointment is against rules and that the state working committee should have been called for making his appointment.
He said the appointment was not made democratically and hence he would meet Intuc national president G Sanjeeva Reddy to register his protest.
Pandey has been made president for one year. Some Intuc leaders believe Pandey has secured the party post by taking advantage of his good offices with Reddy.
Pandey meanwhile rejected claims of fissures cropping up in the organization post his appointment. He said he will face all challenges with the help and cooperation of all fellow members.
Independent MLA Saryu Roy has congratulated Pandey on his appointment.
