Jamshedpur: Six more persons have been found Covid-19 positive in East Singhbhum district on Monday. All of these newly confirmed cases were already living under institutional quarantine.
Out of these 6 persons, two had a travel history to Mumbai, while one has arrived from Chennai.
Among the six new cases, one is a resident of Sakchi, three are from Telco, one is from Asonsol, while one is from Musabani.
With this the number of total infected persons in the district has reached 323 now. All the new patients are being admitted in the Covid wards of the two hospitals in the city.
On the other hand, eight persons in the district were also cured and discharged today. Four persons being treated in TMH Covid-19 ward and four in MGMCH were found Corona-free and they were discharged from hospitals. Three of these are from Musabani, one from Baridih, two from Dhalbhumgarh, one from Potka and one from Chakulia.
In East Singhbhum district, a total of 18382 samples have been tested out of which 17460 have been tested negative. The results of 181 samples are still being awaited. Total infected cases have increased to 330, while 153 cases are active for now. Till date 177 persons have been cured of Covid-19 in the district.
Meanwhile, the district administration has again appealed to the citizens to continue abiding by all the safety precautions to prevent the spread of the disease and to continue social distancing.
