POCSO convict sentenced for life

Two other convicts to be jailed for 10 and 7 years

Jamshedpur: A special POCSO court Monday sentenced Rinku Sao, accused of beheading a three year-old girl after kidnapping and raping her, to life imprisonment. It also imposed a fine of Rs 90,000 on the convict.

Two other accused in the case, Monu Mandal and Kailash Kumar, convicted alongwith Sao, were sentenced to jail terms of 10 years and seven years respectively. The two were also slapped fine of Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

Sao had kidnapped the minor from Tatanagar Railway station premises on 25th July 2019. He had taken the child away from her motherś custody to commit the most ghastly of crimes ever reported in the city. He took the minor to Ramadhin Bagan Area and raped her with his two accomplices. The incident had shaken the city and led Tatanagar rail police to launch a manhunt for the accused.

In a great disappointment to investigators, cops recovered the girlś headless body on 30th July last. The missing head was recovered on 10th August last near a water tank at Ramadhin Bagan.

In this case, police submitted the chargesheet in just 50 days. Cops also submitted the DNA test report and other forensic evidence before the court to secure conviction of the three accused.
