Sushant Singh Rajput commits suicide

Jamshedpur: Sushant Singh Rajput, the renowned Indian film actor, has reportedly committed suicide at his home in Bandra, Mumbai. His sudden demise has left his colleagues in the industry, and his well-wishers in a state of shock.

The prime minister Narendra Modi has mourned his untimely demise.

Sushant was born in Patna and is perhaps best known for portraying Jharkhand’s son Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his biopic, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. It may be brought to notice that Sushant has committed suicide just days after his former manager Disha Salian committed suicide.

The actor began his career with television, and received accolades for playing Manav Deshmukh in Pavitra Rishta. He was arguably at a high point in his career and had releases such as the science fiction movie titled Chanda Mama Door Ke, with R. Madhavan lined up. Sushant Singh Rajput was a popular Bollywood actor and had given many hit films. He is especially known for his unforgettable role in the biopic made on Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s life. The film Mahendra Singh Dhoni: The Untold Story was a super-hit film. Later, he also acted in films like Chhichoorey, which broke several records at the box office. He had also earned laurels for his role in Kai Po Che.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide has come as another shock to Bollywood which had been reeling under a series of losses due to suicides. Several film and television personalities have committed suicide in the recent months.

Sushant Singh Rajput had a close connection with Jharkhand and Jamshedpur.

He visited Jamshedpur several times in connection with shootings of his film. Last time, he visited the city for shooting the upcoming film of Mukesh Chhabra Kizzy aur Manny, which was later named as Dil Bechara.

The film was shot in Kadma and Sonari. The film is slated to be released in 2020.

The chief minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, has expressed grief at the untimely demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. In a tweet he said: Absolutely shocked to hear about the untimely demise of #SushantSinghRajput . May the departed soul rest in peace and God give strength to family members to bear this loss. 2020 has been a tough & terrible year and let’s all pledge to support each other as much as possible.
