Ranchi: Covid-19 outbreak seems to be unrelenting everywhere, including Jharkhand. The state today found 50 new positive cases on Friday. This has taken the total tally of infected persons to 1657. Out of these, 3 cases are from Chatra, 19 from Gumla, four from Simdega, four from East Singhbhum, four from West Singhbhum, three from Ranchi, two from Latehar, four from Ramgarh and 7 from Palamau.
In a disappointing development, two men and on women from Hindpidhi area have again tested positive.
Till date, eight persons in the state have succumbed to Corona, though most of them had co-morbidity too. A majority of of infected persons in the state have either had a travel history or have somehow been in contact with someone who had a travel history. Health authorities feel that community transmission is still not taking place in any part of the state.
The state authorities have taken some pro-active steps to prevent the spread of the disease and it seems that this has contributed significantly in keeping the rate of rise in the new cases under check.
